This Post Published Using Mail-To-Blogger

I just found out about a cool tool in Blogger. You can send an email and it will be either saved as a draft or immediately published.
Go to: Settings>Email>the email address is: username+four-or-more-letter-secret-word@blogger.com (but you'll see this when you're there). Piece of cake.

I found the Mail-to-Blogger trick by watching Atomic Learning's Blogging Workshop series of tutorial videos. By the way, Atomic Learning is great. Not free. But great. Worth the price. Short and sweet (1-2 minute) video tutorials on over 100 of the most common software applications mostly geared to educators. Over 30,000 of them. This link will explain what they offer: http://movies.atomiclearning.com/k12/aboutus
Good luck with atomic learning.

Since you've been messing around a lot on blogger I wonder if there is something you can figure out for me that I never found a way around before. When I had a blogger site for my son I protected it and everyone who subscribed had to enter their username and password to view it. Well, unless they checked my blog site very often they never really knew if I updated it. I know we have blog rolls and such to keep track of this now, but is there some way where blogger will automatically email people that are subscribed that your blog has been updated with a new post? That would be very handy for people that aren't big blog trackers, but still want to know when new posts are available.

Hi Hong,
Great presentation by the way. I did a search for picaboo for Mac and found a discussion link that said something like: you have it already, it's called iPhoto. It does have a lot of the same features, but it's not the same.

Anyway, about your question. What I found was this:

In Blogger, go to Settings, then Email. The top option is "BlogSend Address": It says, "Enter an email address here to have your blog mailed to whenever you publish".

The problem is, there is only room for one address (unless a comma or other mark works, but I didn't find that out).

So, in order to get all of your family members on the list, here is what you do:

Go to your gmail account and look for "Groups" at the top. Follow instructions to form a group. I would choose to automatically add your members rather than invite them when you get to that part: faster, and they are family.

You will have a new email address. Copy and paste it somewhere (I always put my own email address on the list of people I'm signing up
so that I get what they get- but use a different email if you have one). So now you have a google group. You can send emails to that group and everyone can go there and see them.

Even better, you can go back to Blogger and put your google-groups email as your BlogSend Address. Every time you publish, everyone in your google-group will get an email.

I just did all of the above and it works great!

Does that answer your question?

Feel free to ask more. I love having real-world motivation to find out something new.
